SEB reader Michelle Bell contacted me about a Center For Inquiry event she’s holding in Ypsilanti, Michigan later this month. It’s called Skeptics in the Pub and it’ll take place on February 25th from 6 to 9PM at Corner Brewery. The address is 720 Norris Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.
Alcohol will be available – Happy Hour is 4 to 7PM – but consumption of it is not necessary to have a good time. It should be a great way to get together and celebrate life with some people who think similarly. Michelle says she’ll be there early to take advantage of Happy Hour and get things set up and will probably stick around for as long as people are there. So consider the “official” start and end times as more of guidelines than written in stone by the hand of a divine and inflexible being.
If you want to contact the host and ask questions and the like you can call her at 734.780.4759 or e-mail at MerrieMelodyxx@gmail.com. If you call be sure to leave a message.
Working afternoons I wouldn’t normally be able to attend, but I may see if I can get the night off so I can participate. If I can then you can consider that an added bonus. Or not, depending on your point of view of how our first Podcast went.
I think I’ll pass this info along to some pals in the area!
We’ve had a few small Skeptics in the Pub events here in Lafayette. They’re usually fun, especially if you get a good pub. You should attend, if you can.
How does one pronounce Ypsilanti?
Actually, I’d rather figure it out on my own. Yip-sy-lan-tea. Yup-su-lan-tie. Ip-sil-an-tea…
More like Ip-si-lan-tea. To hear it you can go to this website which does a damned good job of pronouncing it.
Id never have taken Ypsilanti for a greek name.
So we FINALLY have a facebook page. It is here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/ical/event.php?eid=305917218891 Hope that works. If not, my bad.
