Look! it’s the Without-God-Us-Christians-Would-All-Shoot-You-In-The-Face argument from the whackjobs at Answers in Genesis:
Though, given the news item I linked to earlier in the day, it seems some of them will shoot you even if God does exist.
Found over at Friendly Atheist.
That’s … just wacky. In a not-very-pleasant way.
Eh. Just shows that many Christians don’t believe that people aren’t inherently evil…but then again that believe might give way to EVOLUTION and SCIENCE where it just doesn’t make sense to go around killing your own species if your meant to procreate and grow said species. Animals just don’t go randomly killing their own kind either…just doesn’t make sense.
And the Christians that would kill you are “off the hook” because they are doing “God’s work”. So, that makes it ok…don’t you know that??
Many Christians do believe that people are inherently evil. Hence the need, by that theology, for salvation.
(Wait, is that what you said in the double negatives? Need more coffee.)
Les shared an item on GReader interpreting the ad as a threat against atheists (“Believe in God or Die!”). I interpreted it as a rehashing of the old canard that, if God doesn’t exist, there is no morality, so kids will walk up to you (any you) and shoot you just to watch you die.
This argument is, in fact, why I am terrified of Les and am giving Michigan a wide berth, just in case I might run into him. Since, as an atheist, he’s as likely to shoot me as buy me a beer. I know this, because of this ad.
Heh, beer is cheaper than guns. I’d buy you the beer.
Um, is it just me or does the ad come across as “if you’re not one of us, we’ll kill you”?
Wow, that’s just… special.
Oh, my. That is certain to make me want to believe in “Dog.” I’ve never seen anything more convincing!

Whew!
Then I’m glad the Rapture is supposed to be soon. The sooner they leave, the better for all of us.
Here’s a question: What if the Rapture came, and no one was taken?
Maybe it has.
Makes for an interesting version of Hell, the Athiests have to put up with the Thiests and Vice Versa.
