That’s off of the official White House homepage. For those of you who don’t know yourselves, that’s known as the Shocker and it has sexual connotations. It’s often accompanied by the phrase “two in the pink, one in the stink” which should give you a pretty good idea of exactly what sexual connotation it holds. If you still don’t get it then go read the Wikipedia entry for it.
Maybe they think it’s supposed to be a W or maybe they just thought it was funny to do a “gangsta” sign. I don’t think they realize what it actually symbolizes. Or maybe they do and that’s part of why they’re doing it. It’s the sort of naughty thing I’d probably do if I were a lame duck president counting down the hours till I get booted out of office.

Our president’s humility is very touching… he has everyone pose for a picture showing (what he thinks is) the iconic letter that stands for him.
If Dubya wanted a hand gesture metaphor to represent his accomplishments, it should be one with all fingers in the stink.
Or possibly the Whitehouse has been a lot more fun than we’ve been led to believe.
Or the interns still thought ‘helping’ the President was still part of the job description.
Or we’ve found the real reason for the infamous Bush ‘naps’.
Just the standard middle finger would suffice for his presidency. It’s simple and says all that needs to be said.
I always wondered with the Bush Administration if someone was just laughing his ass off in the background with all the hypocrisy and irony in speeches and events like these. I guess maybe I just don’t want to believe we voted in a president this stupid.
Who is “we”?, I never voted for the asshole and I never considered him to be my president.
Exactly why we need to move to a parliamentary form of government, instead of ‘Winner Take All’. Even large minorities are virtually unrepresented in our present form.
