… but just wasn’t able to make it. The drive home was worse than usual and by the time I got home and ate dinner I didn’t have the motivation to haul my ass back out to the car and drive the 10 minutes to Hell. So, no pictures of the party in Hell. I’ll see if I can’t make it up there around Halloween.
Instead, we stayed home and watched Hayao Miyazaki’s most recent masterpiece Howl’s Moving Castle, which I’ll need to add to our permanent collection as it was a rental. I’ll try to get a full review up sometime soon.
I loved Howl’s … I assume you’ve already seen Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke? My Neighbor Totoro was pretty good to but I thought it didn’t have enough conflict.
If you haven’t already you should really check out Steamboy, Katsuhiro Otomo’s [Akira] second major anime. The animation is amazing and the story is awesome… Who wouldn’t like a story set in mid 1800’s England in the Steampunk genre.
Howl’s Moving Castle is a great film, but my favorite Miyazaki film is still Porco Rosso.
