I finally figured out what my first book should be all about:

When’s it on sale?
I love it!! LOL
I am so camping out at the book signing line.
Nice idea.
Now the real question: is this just a joke, or are you intending to try and get something like that published?
If so, what type of book would it be? A collection of essays? Transcripts (partial only I hope
of some threads here on the blog?
ingolfson: It’s a spoof of Steve Krug’s “Don’t Make Me Think – A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability” book. The second edition is soon to be released by New Riders, ISBN 0321344758.
Les, how are you going to sell a book that so much of the country has already read?
As Neil said it’s just a spoof. I came across the book at my previous job and I scanned it in fully intending to make a joke out of it a long time ago and forgot about it. It’s been sitting in My Pictures forever. I was sifting through them last night during another bought of insomnia and figured I should finally do something with it as I’ve only had the picture for close to two years now.
Damnit, Les. You owe me a new keyboard. I just spewed coca cola all over mine upon viewing that.
I know this is just a spoof but you should actually write a book. I’d definitely buy it.
See, you got me all hopeful, and now I want that exact book. In my hands. Now.
Love it!
I’m with SS. Prune a few threads, turn it into a dialogue, and you’ve got a good start on 5-6 chapters.
Les- as Morpheus said, there’s a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path. Do it. I’ll buy two.
That foreword by Bush, now… you could simply quote from “The Wit and Wisdom of Spiro T. Agnew” and no one would know the difference…
Or you could simply use a lot of quotes from the REAL Bush, verbatim (enough juicy ones there), quote them out of context, call it an endorsment.
If you have ANY luck, you are going to get sued = instant media attention+advertising for the book.
Please Les, stop teasing us with veiled references to your “first book” and write the damn thing!
Still, I’d like to read it, and that forward sounds very interesting.
I will buy it if you don’t make me read.
I am working on a book, something I’ve mentioned many times previously, and it’s going in fits and starts so far. That’s mainly because I really don’t know what I’m doing so I figured the best approach was to just ignore that fact and start writing and keep writing until I had a big mess of words that I could prune down to the point that it looked something more or less like a book. It might even have a coherent theme by the time it’s done.
