OK, after such a long and serious entry I’m ready to have some fun. Let’s kick this off with a feature I like to call:
E3 News That Makes My Nipples Tingle!
First up, some Half-Life 2 news in a tasty white sauce from the folks at Shack News:
- Half-Life 2 multiplayer is Counter-Strike on the Source engine and will be available at the same time as when Half-Life 2 ships. Counter-Strike game play doesn’t seem to have changed much, if at all. Graphics, of course, are much improved.
- Half-Life 1 is also ported over to the Source engine and will be available at the same time as when Half-Life 2 ships.
- During the presentation, Gabe Newell reiterated that Half-Life 2 is shipping this summer, although no specific date was given.
- Team Fortress 2 was not mentioned at all.
Counter-Strike in the Source engine?! Half-Life 1 ported to the Source engine?!? Pardon me while I go change my undies… Oh, and the official Half-Life 2 homepage is up and running complete with this year’s E3 trailer.
Meanwhile over IGN.com they have hands-on impressions of Splinter Cell 3, yet another WWII FPS called Brothers in Arms, and screen shots from Call of Duty: United Offensive.
OK, that’s enough for now. My drool glands are working overtime.
Counter-strike?!?!? CS is for kiddies! Real gamers play TFC! :p
Seriously though, TFC gave us different classes to play which allowed for a whole new gaming experience. OTOH, CS just grouped people into 2 teams
So it’s bad enough that it’s taking Valve this long to get HL2 out, but to make CS the first mod for it and stop talking about a new version of it for HL2 is just killing me!
