Now this is interesting. There’s a blog titled Arms And The Man: Who’s Making A Killing On Killing In Iraq? that’s taking a look at the companies that stand to make money off of the reconstruction of Iraq and how they relate to members of the current administration.
This blog is going to feature the bits and pieces that pop up in the news and blogosphere about war profiteering. I’m interested in all the fat cats who have positioned themselves to make a killing off of killing Iraqis. Please help me unearth all you can find about how right-wingers, neo-cons and Bush-ites have bet the farm on going to war.
Some day I might even begin to understand a little about Adnan Khashoggi.
In the meantime, I’ll start where I started that night with the Bartcop regulars: Dick Cheney, Halliburton and a sweet little honeymoon deal to corner the market on oilfield firefighters….
I’ve said before that I had doubts about the true motivations for the rush to war by ShrubCo(TM), but the idea that it was merely to gain access to the oil fields seemed unlikely as that was too obvious. I think George W. is an idiot, but I don’t think he’s stupid. The angle being explored by Arms And The Man seems a little heavy on the conspiracy theory, but does raise a lot of interesting questions. If you decide to check it out you’ll find it less confusing to start at the bottom and read up.
